With the Consumer Electronic Show taking place this week in Las Vegas, its no wonder that rumors have began to float around regrading Microsoft’s new Kinect hardware. According to an inside source at CES, Microsoft has been rehearsing their keynote speech and amidst the presentation lies a new potential Kinect function called “Avatar Kinect”. This is strictly a rumor at this point considering their is only one photo shown below that leads us to believe that their is an announcement on the way.
This Avatar Kinect looks like it would be a function through the Xbox dashboard and Xbox live, not a purchased retail title. Buzz on the web has lead many to believe that this could be a 3d rendered version of your avatar in a party environment with your friends list. Similar to how friends can view Netflix with one another, this would allow more interactivity while in a party chat scenario.
Keep in mind this is all speculation until Thursday, Microsoft will be streaming their keynote online as well so a proper update should be up by that afternoon. What do you think Avatar Kinect is?
