Infinity Blade is a surprise hit game for the iPhone platform and it has just been revealed that it Chair Entertainment intended it to originally be a a Kinect title. Donald Mustard spoke with Joystiq and had this to say about the games inception: ‘If we were going to make a Kinect title, what would we make? What would a Chair Kinect game look like?,”
“That discussion happened, you know, a year and a half ago. We had this really cool design, and it’s not that dissimilar from the game you’re playing today; it’s just been refined and adapted to the iOS screen, which honestly I think is where the design works the best.”
Chair Entertainment is known for their critically acclaimed XBLA title Shadow Complex, and they also created Undertow which was more commercially successful than critical, still proving they know how to succeed on the Xbox Platform. It is not surprising that they have garnered plenty of success on the mobile platform as well .
Chair Entertainment seems open to the idea of bringing Infinity Blade back to Kinect by responding to Joystiqs questions. “Yeah,” said Mustard, “If the Kinect really takes off over the holiday season, who knows?”
