It was surprising for a great many that Nintendo was going to be making an appearance at the Consumer Electronics Show next year, as they have been absent for 16 years. Though it was confirmed that the gaming giant would only be an exhibitor there was still hope that they would unleash some big news.
Since that announcement all excitement has been dashed with an official word from Charlie Scibetta, Senior Director of Corporate Communications at Nintendo of America:
“Nintendo of America has booked meeting room space at the 2011 CES but… will not be making any announcements about current or upcoming products during the show..”
Many hoped it would be an unveiling of the ‘Wii HD’ or perhaps some more in depth discussion of Nintendo’s forthcoming 3DS. It seems they are holding off any big announcements for E3, which is all we can expect from Nintendo as of late.
