Popular smartphone manufacturer RIM has purchased UI designer TAT just recently to help work on the User Interface for RIMs new Playbook. You may have never heard of TAT but they happen to be the team behind the original interface design of the T-Mobile G1, the first generation android device, the have also been working hard on stereoscopic displays and inputs as well.
This ‘partnership’ could bode quite well for the Blackberry manufacturer who is not often commended on their design choices when it comes to their OSes interfaces. This will likely improve the legitimacy of their upcoming tablet by removing some of the legacy elements Blackberry phones have been ridiculed for these last couple of years.
This is good news for those that want a reason to love their Blackberry aside from BBMing. I am wondering if this could mean some 3D displays could be coming to future blackberry smartphones. Your thoughts?
