MLG events are few and sometimes far between, but this weekend marks the end of an era in MLG, as it is the last tournament to feature Halo 3. With Halo: Reach as the new game on the circuit, Halo 3’s top eight team will duke it out in a playoff fashion for going down as the kings of Halo 3…and $100,000.
The Dallas National Championship will be running live from MLG’s website all weekend long. As usual other games are featured during the tournaments, but the best eight Halo teams in the world is really something that need to be seen by FPS fans.
The team to watch out this weekend for would have to be Final Boss. This team has been dominate through the whole presence of all Halo games in the history of the league. Final Boss has switched members through the years of Halo, but after this weekend they could be the only team to have one the last tournament from every title. This would clearly make a founding member of Final Boss, Ogre 2 one of the all time best Halo players, and also being the player in the league with the most tournament wins. This would be a great way to send off a game that has brought MLG to a whole new level in mainstream media and gaming culture.
So check out the MLG’s live stream this weekend and witness some competitive gaming history. The finals will air Sunday Nov 7th between 5-7pm, games will run all weekend, but if you only have time for a couple hours those would be the ones to check out.
If you check out the stream let us know how you thought the gameplay was? And if you would watch next season with Halo: Reach? Enjoy!
