After Kingdom Heart II was over many gamers were likely craving more Disney, RPG action and perhaps those same people missed out on the 2008 mobile game, Kingdom Hearts: Coded. So, before Sora gets his 3D outing on the 3DS, sometime much later next year, you will have Re:Coded to continue the story of KH 2 Next January.
Kingdom Hearts II: Re:coded revolves around a second Sora found inside the journal Jiminy Cricket kept of their previous adventures. The game is being developed with the help of h.a.n.d. Inc.,Which also worked on the debut DS entry in the series, Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, which was very well-regarded.
As far as gameplay, Square-Enix hopes to meld a variety of different genres, ranging from side-scrolling platformer to shooter into the game. Re:Coded will also feature an avatar menu in which gamers can customize their appearances with more than 800 unlockable items.
January 11 is the North American release date which is is followed by the Europe date of January 14, the game is already out in Japan.
I have yet to play the other handheld Kingdom Hearts games 358/2 Days or Birth by Sleep, but I do like the idea of creating more story on a system outside of the console, though I would love to see a PS3 Kingdom Hearts.
