Netflix On Wii No Longer Requires Disc

Nick Hernandez 18 Oct

We all expected this to happen after Playstation 3 announced that Netflix no longer required the disc to play content but, now Nintendo announced today they are also doing the same!

The movie service will now be offered via a Netflix channel in your Wii menu, and the channel can be downloaded via the Wii Shop channel.

Netflix CEO and co-founder, Reed Hastings, had to say on the matter: “Wii is a consummate home entertainment platform and has quickly become one of the best and most popular ways to enjoy movies streamed from Netflix. The availability of Netflix right on the Wii Menu adds significantly to the ease and convenience that attracts our members to the Netflix streaming experience and is an important step in our efforts to continuously improve the service.”
