A few weeks ago Gamestops located near military or army area’s announced they would not be selling the new Medal of Honor game due to the fact that you can play as the taliban in the mulitplayer. So EA has now decided to change the name from “Taliban” to “Opposing Forces”… smooth. Greg Goodrich executive producer on Medal of Honor had this to say “There was lots of debate back and forth about this The fundamental game hasn’t changed, it’s still the same. We made this change while maintaining the integrity of the game.
“We made the change after a long consideration.”
I do not see why people got so upset in the first place about them being labeled as the “Taliban” they are the same enemies in MW2 but because they offically announced them as the Taliban everyone had to get upset and over react. This was clearly a touchy and sensitive subject for anyone involved with military life. EA wants nothing more then to show respect towards the US Military and there families. Dodgevader said it best “If they just called them the Balitan this whole thing would have never happened”.

Why!! My God this has been done dozens of times…. why must people complain and change this just because of “political correctness”! basically I am pretty goddamn annoyed that this happened!

I am with you, it is ridiculous. I say make something you want and are passionate about and just stick to your guns. The game is going to make millions no matter what the enemies names are, might as well make it factual.
