Nick Hernandez 30 Sep

Downloadable Content (DLC) has proved to be a great source of revenue for game publishers, one can hardly believe NPD Group’s latest market study which found that only 6 percent of U.S. consumers having downloaded content through game consoles.

“What we learned in our research is that while some people already experience the world in a connected way, most do not,” said NPD VP and senior entertainment analyst Russ Crupnick.

Additionally, the study found that 15 percent of PC and Mac users downloaded DLC during the last 3 months. During the same period 4% of smartphone owners and 2% of Blu-ray player owners downloaded digital content through their devices.
