Enslaved Demo Impressions

Enslaved Demo Impressions

Wayne Jefferson 30 Sep

After a couple playthroughs of this demo, I’ve come to one conclusion… It tried… Basically the new game from the geniuses behind Heavenly Sword feels like it falls short in all the categories. Obviously I don’t know how the campaign experience will be but from the combat and platforming it feels like its trying to be a bunch of other games combined into one awesome experience, but it can’t quite grasp it.

The combat is your basic light hits and heavy hits with your staff, it feels very very typical but I was expecting more. Platforming wise its nothing special it feels like a rip off of uncharted 2’s amazing platforming. Overall it was a very typical experience that didn’t bring anything new or exciting to the table.

I played the demo as well and was not at all impressed by the gameplay, I must say that the graphics, however, were quite impressive. The characters eyes looked almost real.
This demo was a different demo than was shown at Comic-Con and I will say that demo was more fun, it picked up where the xbox demo leaves off. I guess it’s more of an uninspired intro than anything.
I would certainly give this game a shot simply for the story as I am actually intrigued by it, and again the graphics are captivating. I can only hope the gameplay mechanics improve as you progress through the game.
