Team Ninja has announced Ninja Gaiden III at the Tokyo Game Show, with the next instalment in the action series now confirmed to be in development. This will be the first game in the Ninja Gaiden series to not have the involvement of Tomonobu Itagaki, who left Team Ninja shortly after Ninja Gainden II was released.
More recently, Team Ninja worked on the well-received, highly-successful Metroid: Other M which is very much a re-imagining of Samus Arans classic adventures.
Tecmo Koei confirmed to IGN that Ninja Gaiden III does indeed exist but no other details to share and couldn’t reveal what platforms the game would be coming to, though Videogamer were in attendance and said the game is set to have a darker tone. Expect more news on Ninja Gaiden III to come out as the year comes to a close.
