By now you have seen the Disturbed silhouettes trailer of the game with David Draiman shouting “It’s just another way to die”. For some, Mortal Kombat had died when Midway Studios closed down, and though it wasn’t mourned, gamers will always have a place in their hearts for a good old fatality. So on that note here are some new details about the forthcoming game.
NetherRealm Studios is bringing back fatalities and sprucing up the series for the HD generation, sans the DC characters this time around. It is known that the game will return to 2D fighting areas, meaning you can only move left and right across the level, no turning camera to annoy you, while the characters will be drawn in 3D of course. The characters that have been announced are as follows: Cyrax, Sub-Zero, Johnny Cage, Kitana, Kung Lao, Sektor, Scorpion, Reptile, Nightwolf and Mileena.
I have always been a MK fan and I cannot wait to get my hands on this game, I am sure there will be much more news coming up in the next few weeks and months, leading up to it’s possible summer 2011 release. It will be coming to PS3 and Xbox 360 despite the trailer only mentioning the Playstation version. More news to come soon.
