THQ wants to bring more features to the Wii this year, and instead of some sort of software feature they have actually developed an entirely new input method. The title of the device also seems to attempt to capitalize on the naming structure of the iSeries devices. The uDraw tablet may remind some of you old school gamers of the classic SNES game, Mario Paint, which stood on its own innovation to become the epitome of artistry for a gaming console. uDraw will bring the success of the DS’s stylus input to a larger screen hopefully marrying the two platforms in new ways.
The tablet itself is constructed to hold the Wiimote in place and has a tethered stylus, along with a square area which is the actual input area, all of which you can see in the image above. It will retail at a price of $69.99 and will be bundled with the uDraw Studio game. Other games available at launch will be Pictionary and Dood’s Big Adventure, which is this holiday.
I am personally hoping for some DS remakes, or ports, such as Dragon Quest IX and Flipnotes. Also, adding Mario Paint to the Virtual Console with tablet support would be absolutely amazing. check out the video if you are still curious and let us know what you guys think?
