Bioshock Infinite was just announced by 2K games. For those of you wondering this will not be a direct sequel/prequel to the other Bioshock games. Infinite takes place at a different time and in a different setting. Instead of being underwater in an enclosed city you will be venturing around a dynamic city that is floating in the sky called Columbia. The reason I say dynamic is because as clearly seen in the trailer they released, city blocks all float independently and are able to be re-located throughout the city.
In Bioshock Infinite you will be playing as Dewitt, a former Pinkerton agent that is in Columbia to save a woman that are trapped somewhere in the city. Gameplay wise it seems like it will be very similar to Bioshock 2 with your weapon in your right hand and your powers in the left. As to which powers you will be able to get that has not been made clear but we know Dewitt has some. Also seen in the trailer is a new “Big Daddy” we’re not sure what they look like or even if they have the same purpose as a “Big Daddy” or if they are just mindless city protectors. Not too much is known about the new installment into the series but with its 2012 release date I’m assuming over the next year we will slowly learn more about the game.
