Ivy The Kiwi was first released on Windows mobile devices in Japan, November of last year. It was originally being developed for the Wii and DS by Xseed, the developer behind Ys Seven, then midway through the DS development they ported it to the Windows Mobile platform. This month it finally is coming to its’ native Nintendo platforms.
The game follows a Kiwi bird stuck in its egg that travelsĀ through Mayan-type ruins, dodging bats, spikes and mice along the way to the end of each level. To move and dodge, you simply have to swipe or motion for a vine to appear on the screen that will create a path for your brave little Kiwi. You can only create three of these at a time, but as you can see from the video below that is more than enough to navigate the treacherous terrain.
Ivy The Kiwi will be swinging into stores, WiiWare and DSiWare August 24th, 2010
