First thing you need to do is find a difficult song that you are good at, no matter the difficulty level. I picked F.C.P.R.E.M.I.X. on hard I am only able to three star it in quick pay. Bonus songs are your best best.
Next create the match, which will be ranked match, one song, this ensures you are always picking the song.
Now the reason this works so well is because it allows both you and the other player to choose which difficulty they are most comfortable with, most player online choose hard or expert, usually expecting the popular songs. That is how you win.
So long as you are proficient at the song and the other players are not then they will either quit or simply lose. It still counts as a win if they quit.
It is best to pick a song that is difficult enough and also one that few people have experience with to get best results.
