Nintendo announced today that they’re going to make some more announcements tomorrow: the next Nintendo Direct is scheduled to be broadcast tomorrow morning, and Nintendo says they’ll reveal some new info about upcoming Wii U and 3DS games.
Nintendo has specified that tomorrow’s broadcast will be about titles that have already been announced, so don’t get your hopes up about a surprise reveal of the new Wii U Zelda or possible Mario Galaxy sequel. Nintendo hasn’t stated which games they’ll be showcasing tomorrow, but I think it’s safe to assume that they’ll be highlighting their fall line-up, which includes games like Wind Waker HD (perhaps they’ll confirm that new, harder difficulty that Amazon accidentally revealed a few days ago?), Super Mario 3D World, The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, and Pokemon X &Y. They’ll probably toss in some new Super Smash Bros. info as well (perhaps some new characters?), because nowadays Nintendo isn’t allowed to have a press conference without mentioning Smash Bros.
While I wouldn’t mind hearing more about those titles, I’m hoping that Nintendo will spend some time highlighting the Wii U’s more niche titles, like Platinum Games’ The Wonderful 101 or Monolith Soft’s mysterious Xenoblade follow-up.
Anyway, check back tomorrow for what’s sure to be some mildly interesting Nintendo news, including the usual stereotypical complaints about Nintendo making too many sequels (“Another Mario game? Boo!”) or complaints about Nintendo not making enough sequels (“Fuck these new franchises on 3DS, where’s my F-Zero/Metroid/Star Fox sequels?”)
