It’s been three years since Starcraft II originally launched. On occasions like this, it’s customary to give the celebrant gifts, but instead of throwing a party for themselves, Blizzard is giving out some surprise gifts to players in the form of bonus XP and has unlocked all of the races for use with the free Starter Edition of the game.
For a limited time, all players will get a 25% XP bonus when they play any multiplayer, VS A.I., or training mode games. The bonus XP gets applied whether you win or lose, so now is the perfect time to learn a second race and unlock some bonus portraits and emblems.
Cheap-asses who play the free Starter Edition of Wings of Liberty will be happy to know that the Protoss and Zerg have been unlocked for free players. Usually the free version of the game limits players to the Terran race, but for a limited time, free players will be able to try out the other two races as well.
Unfortunately, Blizzard hasn’t added any new portraits to unlock for this event, but they have put up some new third anniversary wallpaper for the game on its official site.
It’s currently unknown how long each bonus will be available for, so you might as well play as much as you can now and make the most of that XP bonus.
