Capcom has announced that their upcoming DuckTales remake will be released for the PC, PS3, and Wii U on August 13th. The Xbox 360 version will be available a few weeks later, on September 11th (please refrain from making any jokes about Launchpad McQuack crashing a plane into a building please, k thx.)
The game will also see a boxed, retail release on Playstation 3, though the “physical” copy of the game won’t actually contain a disc: the case will simply include a download code for the PSN Store, as well as a collectible DuckTales pin.
The digital versions of the game will be available for $14.99 (or the equivalent amount of Microsoft points,) while the physical version of the game will retail for $19.99.
I know a lot of retro gamers have been down on DuckTales HD because of some of it’s (admittedly superfluous) additions to the classic game (did we really need a cutscene explaining why Scrooge is on the Moon? No, no we didn’t,) but with that said, I’m still excited to play DuckTales again — it’s always been one of my favorite NES games, and in the end, it doesn’t matter how much they’ve changed the graphics or the story, as long as the gameplay remains the same and the controls are as tight as the old 8-bit version.
