Nintendo wrapped their special E3 edition of Nintendo Direct just a short while ago, and a lot was announced. Unfortunately, the stream quality was extremely poor, with both audio and video cutting out at many points as well as constant buffering. Fortunately, however, Nintendo has now uploaded the presentation in it’s entirety to YouTube, complete and in glorious 720p HD. In case you, like myself and many others, missed any of the exciting announcements and gameplay trailers, look no further than right here:
Nintendo put on a really great show this year. They delivered on all of the promises they made in prior Nintendo Direct events, stating that a new 3D Mario, Mario Kart, and Smash Bros. were all on their way within the coming year. Now that we’ve seen them in action, it’s easy to start getting excited about The Big N once more, seeing as how their software lineup just got a Mega-Mushroom boost.
Personally, I’m most looking forward to hearing more about Bayonetta 2 and getting a better idea of the full roster for Super Smash Bros. Wii U. For that matter, some details about how the 3DS and Wii U versions of Nintendo’s popular brawler would be appreciated as well. But back to Bayonetta for a moment. Her first game was a blast to play through, and while I’d prefer seeing the Umbra Witch tackle angels in full 1080p HD running at 60fps, having a sequel at all is better than nothing; so for that I’m truly grateful.
Alright, I’ll offer some more thoughts about Nintendo’s E3 offerings later today, but for now just sit back and enjoy the show. Be sure to share your thoughts about the newly-announced titles in the comments section, and don’t forget to like IGXPro on Facebook, follow us on Twitter, or give us the ‘ol +1 on Google+. The Wii U is capable of running in 1080p and there’s no reason to assume Bayonetta 2 will not run at 60fps.
I’m most excited for that and I will own a Wii U purely for that game. The game play I’ve seen of it looks excellent.

Considering most games, even with the PS4 and Xbox One’s capabilities, still tout running at 60fps as a “feature,” the lack of confirmation in regards to Bayonetta is reason enough to be wary.
As of E3, the developers only stated they will “do their best” in their attempts to get the game to run at 60fps. Not exactly all that confidence inspiring.

Yeah, playing a hack n’ slash spectacle fighter in less than 60 fps is not pretty. That’s one of the reasons I didn’t get the Devil May Cry reboot, besides the fact that new Dante is lame. Hopefully the devs will be able to sort out the Wii U quibbles and get Bayonetta running at 60 fps.

My sentiments exactly.
