You know how sometimes you wish for something so hard that when it actually comes true, you can hardly believe it? I’m betting a sizeable chunk of the internet is feeling exactly that right about now. Precursor Games, the team behind the mega-cult-classic survival-horror Gamecube title Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem, has just teased a spiritual successor in the form of Shadow of the Eternals. IGN offered a first look at the teaser trailer.
The teaser also reveals that an official gameplay trailer will debut on May 6. Additionally, May 6 is also the day the studio will launch a crowdfunding effort, so all of those countless diehard Eternal Darkness fans will have the opportunity to put their money where their mouth is.
There are currently no details on a potential release date, or platform availability. Eternal Darkness was originally developed by Silicon Knights and published by Nintendo. The core creators of that game now make up the team at Precursor Games.
Are you guys excited to hear more about Shadow of the Eternals? Is this the survival-horror title you’re been waiting for? How high does Eternal Darkness rank on your favorite games of all-time list? Let us know in the comments section.

I’d rather see a sequel to Too Human if we’re talking about ex Silicon Knights staff.

Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem was one of my all-time favorite games. Ever.
Saying that, I absolutely refuse to give that scumbag Dennis Dyack a cent of my money.
