Rockstar has released a new lengthy trailer for the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto V that details the backstories and motives for the game’s three main characters.
Unlike previous GTA’s which focused on a single character’s story, GTA V tells the story of three different criminals: Michael, Franklin, and Trevor. Despite being rich and having a family, Michael turns to a life of crime apparently to alleviate his boredom and dissatisfaction with his life (his friend from the trailer accuses him of having a “mid life crisis,”) while Franklin commits crimes with the hope of getting rich and moving out of the ghetto. Trevor… well, the trailer doesn’t reveal Trevor’s motives, but it does make him look insane. Despite their different backgrounds and motives, the three characters team up at some point during the game’s story.
Grand Theft Auto V is still scheduled to be released for the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC in September. The game was originally scheduled to be released this Spring, but was delayed so that Rockstar could have more time to polish the title. It looks like those extra few months of dev time are paying off, because the game looks damn good.
