It’s April 30, and you know what that means: Only two more days until the midnight screening of Iron Man 3 for all the U.S. fans that would rather shoot adrenaline than sleep in the wee hours of the morning. Virtual Console 30th Anniversary: As part of the ongoing Nintendo anniversary celebration, every couple weeks from January through August there are discounts on classic NES and SNES titles. Now that the Virtual Console is available for the Wii U, you can take advantage of the upgraded versions of these titles. Upgrading from the Wii Virtual Console version of games to the Wii U version costs $1.00 for NES titles and $1.50 for SNES titles (with support for other console versions coming later) and gives you: Remote play, customizable controls, save states, and Miiverse support.
- 4/17 – 5/16: Kirby’s Adventure– $0.30 (Yeah, that’s thirty cents.)
That wraps things up for this week’s sales and specials. It’s a pretty great way to kick off May, with some monster sales on a number of really great titles across the board. Hopefully, Nintendo starts to get into the routine of weekly discounts as soon as the Virtual Console fills out with a wider selection of titles. There are some featured games on the eShop every week, but they don’t have a dedicated discount section, but baby steps I guess.
Which discounted games do you plan on picking up this week? What add-on or DLC are you most looking forward to seeing reduced in price before purchasing? Let us know in the comments section.
