Team Ninja announced today that they are working on a new Dead or Alive 5 “project.”
(warning: the beginning of the video is pretty loud, you might want to adjust your volume before you press play.)
As the teaser above suggests, Ninja Gaiden’s rookie ninja Momiji is being added to DoA’s roster of fighters. It’s not surprising news, given the amount of cross-over between Team Ninja’s franchises: the recently released Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge featured DoA covergirls Kasumi and Ayane as bonus playable characters.
It’s currently unknown whether Team Ninja’s latest “project” will be sold as DLC for existing Dead or Alive 5 players, or if it will only be available as a separate, fully priced game, a-la Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Team Ninja didn’t announce anything else regarding the new version of Dead or Alive 5, but it’s safe to assume that there will be more changes and new features implemented in this revision beyond the addition of Momiji as a playable character.
