A little bit of extra news for this week’s Deal’s Roundup readers. Major Nelson just updated his blog with some great deals for fans of Halo 4 and Twisted Pixel, the developers behind the popular Splosion Man series as well as a couple Arcade titles. Here’s what’s in store (literally):
The Twisted Pixel Bundle is exactly what is sounds like. For the heart-stoppingly low price of 800 Microsoft Points ($10 for those of you that live in the real world), the entire catalog of Twisted Pixel titles will be yours to download. That lineup includes both Splosion Man and the followup sequel, Ms. Splosion Man, as well as original Arcade classic The Maw and the much-more recent Comic Jumper. Usually, most of these games will cost you 800 points apiece, with Comic Jumper originally releasing at a whopping 1200 Microsoft Points; so this deal is borderline insanity and likely the result of someone at Twisted Pixel suffering from delirium.
It’s worth mentioning that there is no additional discounting of the bundle if you already own any of the titles included, so this deal is particularly targeting those who’ve yet to be swayed by Twisted Pixel’s unique charm. Major Nelson also points out that you won’t receive any additional downloads of the already-owned games either, which I don’t think anyone genuinely considered as an option. Considering there’s no option to gift games to friends, I can’t think of a single reason to own two digital copies of the same arcade game on one account. He’s just being thorough, I guess. Unfortunately, there’s no mention of whether or not the games include all their previously-released DLC, so I’ll update the story once that information becomes available.
On the sci-fi side of things, Microsoft has made good on their promise of a special one-day only sale on an assortment of Halo 4 map pack DLC. As noted in Tuesday’s Deals Roundup, everything is 25% off.
- Halo 4 Crimson Map Pack: 600 Microsoft Points
- Halo 4 Majestic Map Pack: 600 Microsoft Points
- Halo 4 War Games Map Pass: 1600 Microsoft Points
For those wondering, the War Games Map Pass includes both the Crimson and Majestic map packs, plus the recently-released CastleĀ Map Pack. On top of all that, you’ll also get 2 in-game helmets and a unique emblem to help satisfy all your customization needs. If you haven’t yet purchased any of the previous DLC, now would be the ideal time to go all-in and pick up everything while it’s on sale.
Are you folks interested in the Twisted Pixel Bundle? How about picking up the Halo 4 DLC map packs? Or have you already purchased some, if not all, of the games and add-on content in question? Let us know down in the comments.
