Watch All of Tomb Raider: The Final Hours Right Here!

Watch All of Tomb Raider: The Final Hours Right Here!

Vincent Parisi 01 Mar

We’ve nearly reached the much-anticipated launch date for Crystal Dynamic’s reboot of the Tomb Raider franchise, featuring everyone’s favorite female adventurer, Lara Croft. For those who don’t know, Crystal Dynamics has been releasing a series of behind-the-scenes featurettes on their official YouTube page detailing the development process during, quite literally, the final hours of Tomb Raider. With the last of the series coming to an end yesterday, I’ve decided to compile all the videos for your facilitated viewing pleasure. The series is produced by Geoff Keighley and narrated by nerd-culture celebrity Chuck Bartows… I mean Zachary Levi. I strongly encourage anyone interested in the game development process, or intrigued by the world of Tomb Raider, to sit back and enjoy the five-part series in its entirety.

Here is the series’ official synopsis:

“Crystal Dynamics has partnered with video game journalist Geoff Keighley to produce an innovative new installment in his well-regarded Final Hours documented series, to be hosted by actor and gamer Zachary Levi. The Final Hours of Tomb Raider will give fans an unprecedented, fly-on-the-wall perspective of the twists and turns of game development and highlight the key creative forces responsible for reimagining the iconic video game franchise Tomb Raider.”

Without further ado, I present to you, Tomb Raider: The Final Hours

Tomb Raider will be released on March 5 for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. Keep your eye out for our official review shortly thereafter.

About The Author

Vincent Parisi

I guess I'm the typical, modern day nerd. I was raised right on Batman: TAS and old-school TMNT. I've been a core gamer since I was 2 years old (I was beating Mario before I could finish sentences) and haven't thought twice about it since. My favorite game genre is RPG for sure. I love the advent of channels like Nerdist and Geek and Sundry, and will never turn down an invitation to a Con. (Though I don't cosplay... yet.) I hate not owning the latest and greatest gadgets and aspire to find my place in the world of game journalism. Favorite Games: The Mass Effect trilogy, Super Mario World, the BioShock series, the Ratchet and Clank series, anything featuring Nolan North. Favorite shows: FireFly (Browncoats, unite!), Bones, Castle, Spectacular Spider-Man (RIP), Transformers Prime. Anything featuring the voice talents of Steve Blum, Gina Torres, Ashley Johnson, or Yuri Lowenthal. Favorite Comics: Amazing Spider-Man (Thanks for the memories), most things featuring Batman, any one where Green Arrow makes an appearance.

I’m dyslexic I’m wondering if I read this correctly This is the last tomb raider they will ever make? They are making a sequel right? more and more Tomb raiders right for at least until i die right?

While they haven’t yet announced a sequel to the rebooted Tomb Raider, and in spite of the game failing to meet Square Enix’s internal sales goals, I’m confident we’ll be seeing more of Lara from the Crystal Dynamics team in the future.

The Final Hours is simply a video series documenting the last few days of the reboot’s development, it was not intended to imply that it was the last Tomb Raider game ever made. It’s basically a behind-the-scenes featurette on the making of Tomb Raider.

Ok thats a relief I see now. Sales expectations? I shouldn’t be
surprised first playthrough it was a good game though it just needed
fixing for a good replay value, a better rpg like feel to survive would
have been better kind of like a survival simulation, lara couldn’t do
her fancy jumps but this is understandable in the beginning, though they
could have had it as a level up skill, the puzzles were weak and
boring, it was more action based game so first playthrough it was good, I
don’t see any other issues except the reason anniversary and underworld
were better is because its a proper tomb raider game, cool jumping
skills, climbing, harder puzzles exploration more costumes and good
ones, they never give you lara costume in this tomb raider and what come
on no bikinis or thongs? lol the extra outfits are boring they cover up
too much of her skin, lara exposed is one of the reasons a lot of
gamers like playing the game. In final hours shes covered up for the
most part even the DLC costumes are boring, compare that to underworlds
or Anniversary thats the first major flaw from Crystal Dynamics.

Though the action is good and
better than other tomb raiders, the other games in the series previously
have better gameplay still because it gives you a more real exploration and deeper puzzles, if
they combined that don’t forget lara’s cool jumps and flips on the ground like a
ninja and tons of extra outfits with final hours mechanics such as GPS
locations to all treasures and bonus content giving you the drive to
find them, it could make for quite the best tomb raider yet. I swear
game companies should hire me I can point out their flaws and fix them
I’ve played enough games I know what’s good I feel like an old man.
Listen to a hardcore gamers advice I say its us who play most games and
have best attention to the games detail. I could point out more flaws in
the game but I’m not getting paid for this so.

        However
to all developers and game companies Its the game content and things
you can do in the game that make it special not just a good storyline. A simple set of cool back flips and jumps is a form of addiction, a set of sexy and cool outfits is another,
a mansion to explore such as your own house in game to explore was cool
why take that out? Tomb raider final hours had none of this that’s 50%
or more of what underworld and anniversary was. You need to ask yourself
what made the Tomb Raiders special in the first place? Simply add it to
the all nice action storyline and …
