In response to requests by fans, Capcom is developing an update patch that will remove Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate’s online region lock, and give Wii U players the option to play the game in its entirely without the use of a TV.
Capcom announced earlier this month that the servers for MH3U would be locked by region. Thankfully, Capcom has decided to reverse that decision after hearing the complaints of fans, and now North Americans and Europeans will be able to play the game online together.
The update will also add the much requested feature of off-TV gameplay, allowing users to play the entire game on their Wii U gamepads rather than on their TV’s. Capcom has also announced that they plan to support the game after its American launch with a number of free DLC quests.
If you’ve read this blog before, you probably already know that I’m super hyped for Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate. Earlier entries in the series were pretty much the only games I played on my PSP during the last few years, and I’m really happy that Capcom is giving the series another chance in the West. Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate hits the Wii U and 3DS on March 19th. A demo for both versions of the game is currently available on Nintendo’s e-shop.
