Since I’ve already covered one consoles exclusivity deal, I figure I have to balance the scales. Sony has just announced, via their official blog, that Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will have over 30 VR-based missions coming exclusively to their console. According to Dalton Link, social media manager for Konami, these VR Missions will be, “Adding 30 all-new missions to the game, featuring that classic VR/Virtual Reality look inspired by the original Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions, the pack is pure, uncut gameplay that pushes Raiden’s Cyborg body to its limits.”
An official synopsis for the VR pack was also posted:
“Featuring a mix of combat training, tactical maneuvering, stealth-based approaches and more, these missions will both provide practice in which to hone your skills in original stages not seen the in the game’s campaign, and feature an eclectic mix of challenges that any veteran of METAL GEAR SOLID 2: Substance or METAL GEAR SOLID: VR Missions would come to expect. And, in an interesting twist, you’ll be able to take control of the much loved/hated Dwarf Gekko in the VR Missions.”
What’s that at the end there? Dwarf Gekko, that sphere thing with three arms, will be playable in the VR Missions? I mean, I guess if that’s what you’re into…
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is scheduled to release on February 19 in NA regions and February 22 in Europe.
Are you folks pumped for Revengeance? I know the demo is available right now, so it might be worth checking out. Platinum Games wooed me something fierce with Bayonetta, so anything they make merits at least a try as far as I’m concerned.
