Thanks to a post on the CleverNoob forums by user TSA_383, details found within data files of the latest Mass Effect 3 patch have revealed some interesting details about the much-teased upcoming DLC for the best-selling BioWare RPG.
I’ll get to the good stuff first. The files reveal there will be a new co-op campaign mode added to the game. While nothing is absolutely certain, according to what’s been found, the mode will likely make use of player’s paragon/renegade point values, reputation points and updates plot progress from the single-player campaign.
Additional details suggest that all the recent DLC weapons added to the single-player campaign will be brought over to the game’s already established multiplayer mode, as well as offering new ultra-light materials for the shotgun, assault rifle and sniper rifle.
Furthermore, an Xbox product description has also appeared online offering a brief synopsis of additional features the DLC, now titled Reckoning, will include:
“The day of reckoning is nigh! The Reckoning Multiplayer Expansion brings six new never before seen co-op story missions to the game and new co-op gameplay modes. It provides four new maps to conquer and hazard variations of the Earth maps. It also enables reinforcement packs that offer new kits for the salarians, krogans, humans and volus. In-game reinforcement packs now include three new weapons (Chakram Launcher, Blood Pack Punisher and Adas Anti-Synthetic Rifle).”
Okay, so pretty big news for Mass Effect 3 fans, because that’s a whole lot of new content coming your way. As long as they keep putting out DLC that adds to the single-player story missions, I’ll be keeping my copy close to my console. How many of you are still playing the current form of multiplayer? Do these new co-op story missions sound interesting to you? And, for the handful of people who still haven’t finished the game, what the heck are you waiting for?!?
