It’s been a good couple of weeks to be a Playstation Plus member: last week we received the under-rated Bioshock 2 as a bonus for our membership, and before that we got the Vita’s best games for free. This week we’re getting Capcom’s fighting magnum opus, Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition as our newest freebie.
In case you didn’t know, Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition is the latest (supposedly final) version of SF4, and features new characters, such as Street Fighter 3’s popular twin brothers, Yun and Yang. The download apparently includes the 2012 patch for the game, which fixed a lot of the original game’s balancing issues and exploit. Street Fighter 4 is the third fighting game to join PS+’s “Instant Game Collection,” preceeded by SNK’s King of Fighters XIII and Sega’s Virtua Fighter 5. All 3 games are some of the best fighters to be released this generation, so if you’re a fighting game fan on a budget, you might want to look into PS+.
Downloadable puzzle platformer Rochard will also be made free to PS+ members with today’s update as well. I haven’t played it myself, but the game got generally positive reviews when it first came out.
