This is an entry level e-book reader so don’t expect it to have any advanced features. It doesn’t have any backlight making it impossible to use in the dark. It does however have touch screen technology and has Wi-Fi for you to be able to download books in to it.
Although its body is made of plastic it has a very solid feel to it. Its shiny finish gives a premium feel to it. In terms of usability the screen is actually very good. Since it uses e-Ink technology you will be able to read your books clearly even under direct sunlight.
When using it you won’t feel any sluggishness at all but you won’t get the same performance as the iPad2. Turning the pages of a book is quite fast and responds well with a swipe of your finger on the touch screen.
The Nook Simple Touch as first released in June 2011nd is a perfect choice for people looking for a portable e-book reader. Its battery life of up to two months, support for e-book lending and Wi-Fi features makes it an ideal choice for the budget conscious consumer.
