Eurogamer is reporting that Resident Evil Revelations, the previously 3DS exclusive “interquel” set between the events of Resident Evil 4 and 5, may soon be headed to the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 via an HD port.
Revelations recently showed up on a listing posted on the Korean Ratings Board, suggesting that Capcom is in the process of porting the title over to home consoles. It certainly wouldn’t be too much work: like most of Capcom’s recent games, Revelations runs off of the NT Framework Engine, which supposedly allows for easy ports between disparate platforms. Considering Capcom seems intent on porting over every Resident Evil title possible to the HD consoles, the rumor seems more than plausible.
I didn’t get a chance to play all the way through Revelations when it was originally released for the 3DS awhile back, but I did like the few bits that I was able to play – the game seems like a good mix of the slower paced, creepier classic Resident Evil’s and the more bombastic action of the newer entries in the series. At the very least, I thought it was better than this Fall’s Resident Evil 6, but that’s not exactly a hard accomplishment to achieve.
Capcom has yet to comment on the validity of the Ratings Board listing.
