Final episode of Telltale’s The Walking Dead debuts next week

Final episode of Telltale’s The Walking Dead debuts next week

Michael Lacerna 14 Nov

Today Telltale Games announced that the fifth and final episode of their ongoing The Walking Dead series will be available next week.

Entitled “No Time Left,” the game’s final chapter follows protagonist Lee as he attempts to find and rescue his sort-of adopted daughter, Clementine. The game will first be available on PS3 when the Playstation Store updates next Tuesday, November 20th, while Xbox 360, iOS, and Steam users will have to wait until the following day to get it.

The Walking Dead has definitely been one of the biggest pleasant surprises of the year — I didn’t have a very high opinion of Telltale before I played it (I found their new entries in the Monkey Island and Sam and Max series’ to be underwhelming,) but The Walking Dead has certainly been leagues beyond Telltale’s previous work — the writing is sharp, the puzzles are clever and fun to solve, and even the game’s quick-time-events manage to be fun. I think I’ve honestly enjoyed Telltale’s game more than the AMC TV series (and that’s saying a lot,) so I’m pretty excited to see how Lee’s grisly adventure will come to an end… If the game’s conclusion is in line with the nihilistic tone of everything else in the Walking Dead franchise, I’m guessing it won’t be a happy ending.
