The heavily anticipated Halo 4, for the Xbox 360, is about to be released in less than a week. The popular game franchise continues the story with Master Chief returning to battle sinister new enemies that assault the path of his future as well as the destiny of the universe. With more action, campaigns, weapons, technology, foes and most impressively, the infinite-ness story lines to unfold, this very well maybe the game of the year! A little surprise, some may find, is that inside the case of this very coveted 2 disc game, is a FREE X-Box Live Gold Membership, good for a 2 week trial. So those of you that do not know what it’s like or haven’t had the chance to play Halo online with your friends before, here’s your chance!
Of course that’s not all, depending on IF you pre-ordered the game, and from where you got the pre-order. I did a little research, for myself, I mean YOU of course 🙂 and I found some great deals out there if you really want to look schnazzy. Amazon, Gamestop, and Best Buy are all selling the game for the same price that is $59.99. Wal-Mart? $59.96 which is big savings, right? Anyways where you decide to buy, matters. This matters if you care about your looks that is. Amazon lets you have customizable “Web” armor. Wal-Mart gives you an “Armor Skin” download. Best Buy? “Venator Raptor” armor design and The Halo 4 “Deadeye Helmet”. Last but not least, Gamestop. Gamestop gives you “Forest Armor Skin”, “War Games Haven Premium Theme”, and “Arctic Battle Rifle Skin”. Basically, all are cosmetic and customizable; however in some online competitive modes your armor will just resort back to its default colors. Blah!
So what’s the best direction to go in if you want to pick up Halo 4? Well, Gamestop lets you call and pick up your pre-order OR have it shipped, but then there’s shipping and that other thing, handling. Yuck. Wal-Mart, SOME stores let you ship to store and then you can go pick up your item from your destined Wal-Mart in your jammies. Best Buy, sometimes you can ship to store as well, but mostly you go old school and go inside to get it and get bombarded by high school associates asking you to join their clan, team, guild, kinship, whatever, if they’re into the same titles. Fun Stuff. Amazon? Well there’s only one choice there unless you know something I don’t. If you have Amazon Prime, the shipping is free or if you use Discover Card and enter code “DSCVRHSD” at checkout, to get the free shipping deal. But honestly who wants to PAY for shipping, or more importantly WAIT?!
Halo bumps it up with awesome new Graphics, Dolby Digital Sound, and some pretty sweet game play options. You can blast away n00bs solo or split screen with up to three friends. Check your stats and scores at halowaypoint.com. Play Wargames if you enjoy that competitive co-play or take part in a unique player progression and reward system by joining Spartan Ops. This co-op system takes you in new directions with every choice you make and new episodes are released weekly on the XBox Console!
Just a few other perks to mention. If you enjoy watching movies on VUDU, Wal-Mart is giving you $4.99 in movie credits if you preorder this game. Amazon gives you $10.00 in Amazon Instant Video Credits. And Gamestop? Well, Gamestop just offers you an extra 30% in-store credit when you trade in any items? Best buy, didn’t offer anything credit wise. So before I trade in my Intelivision for a $0.01 credit I have a lot of thinking to do on what suits me best. Make your choice before this Tuesday, November 6, so you can get the extra perks! You know you’re going to get it anyways; you might at as well grab some freebies and look good doing it!
