Japan’s currently most popular franchise is making it’s way to Nintendo’s newest console, and attendees at New York Comic Con will get to take the first stab at Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate on Wii U.
The first publicly playable demo of the game will be available in Capcom’s Room B101 at the convention. Players will be able to freely play the game at their leisure, though Capcom is holding special “hunting tournaments” at specific times throughout the Con, and will be giving out special prizes to players who perform well.
Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate on Wii U takes all the content from both the original Wii and PSP versions of the game and upscales the game to full 1080p resolution. Capcom is also promising new content exclusive to the Wii U version (including a new village,) and has seemingly touched up the textures a bit as well. Monster Hunter was always one of the prettiest games on both the Wii and the PSP, and it looks absolutely beautiful running on an HD console. Don’t believe me? Check out the screens that Capcom has released below:
Obviously, I’m a big fan of the series, and I’m really glad that Capcom is giving the series another chance in the US. Fans who can’t make it to NYCC will have to wait until Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate’s official release, which should happen sometime around March of next year.
