There’s a new Battlefield: Bad Company in the works, but it isn’t a game: according to Deadline, Fox is adapting EA’s popular first person shooter series into a TV show. As to be expected from these sort of things, it sounds like Fox is… taking a substantially different direction with the show’s story rather than following the games’ narrative.
According to the report, the new “Bad Company” will be about four ex-soldiers who realize they were being used by a corrupt general to further his own secret agenda. The soldiers band together to unravel the conspiracy and fight back against their shady former employer, who now wants them dead to cover up any evidence of their dealings.
It sounds more like A-Team than Bad Company, but I suppose if the TV show can retain the games’ trademark sense of humor, the changes should be acceptable. There’s no word yet on when we can expect to see Battlefield: Bad Company grace the network’s line-up, but we do know that the show is being written by former Alias writer Josh Eisendrath.
