You might have been the bad friend that made fun of others because they never picked up the PS3, instead they went with the Xbox 360 console, but know you are in a large group of PS3 gamers that wish they had the Xbox 360. Gamers have been waiting for the Skyrim Dawngaurd release long enough and some are even annoyed that Microsoft pushed their weight around to get it launched on the Xbox 360 first. What are you going to do? This is going to happen with big name franchise games until the end of time. For now, you can just stop whimpering and cross your fingers you might hear about a release date soon.
On the other hand, you could make friends with someone that owns an Xbox 360 and play the game that way for now. At least you have options. The 30-day Xbox only release is about over and now PS3 and PC gamers are wondering what is taking so long. Some had hoped the extra time would give the game developers time to work out any annoying bugs that are still in the game from the initial release. According to PC Gamer Bethesda marketing VP said, “We have not announced Dawnguard for any other platform, nor given a timeline for any such news, If we have news, I promise I’d tell you.”
In the meantime, Bethesda, the developer behind the game, announced their plans for the next release of Skyrim on the PS3 and PC, which includes updates on the Sony console to prepare it for the game. The changelog for the Skyrim Update 1.7 includes the following:
- General memory and stability optimizations
