Crysis launched with some major fanfare and awesome reviews back in 2007. Then, the game was launched for the PC and the game was so intense that gamers were spending all of their savings just to upgrade their computers so that it could handle the sweet graphics and over-the-top game play. If you take a look where Crysis is today, just four years since it was first realized, the game is now available on the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3, as well as Crysis 2, which is a downloadable game on both gaming consoles.
I know I can hear you asking, “but what about the Nintendo Wii?”. Well, just like anyone with a brain, we know that a game like Crysis is not made for the rinky dink Nintendo Wii. But what about the soon to be launched Nintendo Wii U? According to the producer of Crysis 3, which is set to come out in February of 2013, the game could be a “possibility” on the Nintendo Wii U console. Officially there is no comment on the matter, but the producer, Mike Read, did say that the company is working closely with Nintendo. As gamers, we know that the NIntendo Wii just does not have what it takes to have a game like Crysis in its library, but whatever happens with the Nintendo Wii U, just might have the kick for it.
Since the Wii U does not have any sort of official release date, it is hard for game companies to plan anything in the dark, so we will have to wait and see if the guys at Crysis or Nintendo step up to the podium first to say a few things. Read went on to say, “I wouldn’t say there’s no chance, I mean the Wii U still doesn’t have any kind of release [date] attached to it at this point. Who knows what the future will bring with it. I can definitely say that we are working with Nintendo, and that’s about all I can say on that front.”
According to earlier reports, the Nintendo Wii U is set to launch in November, just before the biggest holiday shopping weekend. If that is the case and the game is going to be released at the same time, Nintendo could be looking at some serious sales numbers for the last quarter of this year.
