LG 55″ LM7600 3D TV Giveaway!

You’re probably really sad because you bought Facebook stock when it first came out and now you can’t buy that new TV you always wanted. Well good news, you can get it for free. IGXPro and LG have teamed up to give away their 55″ LM7600 LED 3D TV as well as $500 dollars towards a viewing party.

Now, I know some of you are skeptical on the quality of 3D TVs, and quality is a giant priority to us, especially when it pertains to our viewers. So I took up a loan unit and used it for 30 days to get a feel of the TV in question, and to find out if it was even something you guys would like. I was quite impressed with the experience!

The TV also has the ability to turn any old 2D program into a 3D experience, something I played around with a bit but found it was very glitchy and random objects would pop-out for no reason or anything that was white would pop out all the time which I found annoying but perhaps something they could fix with a future update of the TV.

The LM7600 is a Smart TV and LG made sure to pack it full with all the apps you could ever need on it including the standard things such as Netflix and Youtube. But, then they went on to include NHL GameCenter, Karaoke, Facebook, an entire 3D World where you can view tons of free 3D content to really test out the TV, and for you fellow Koreans out there they have an entire K-Pop Zone. Of course, there are hundreds of more apps and features to the Smart TV such like video sharing from my computer to the TV seamlessly (which I guess connected to my Samsung Smart Share app some how) but it would take forever to explain all of them! Also, I’m not sure if it’s an issue with the demo unit we received or if it’s a normal issue with the TV but, occasionally the TV will forget your login details to Youtube/Netflix and also sometimes forget your internet settings. I hope that is an isolated issue but that is what we experienced.

You can also play games in dual play gaming mode. Meaning that the TV will split in the center and layer the top and bottom portion of the screen on top of eachother that without glasses you can’t see a thing. This means that while you’re playing with your friend, you won’t have to worry about them screen watching you as you are about to attack them. Unfortunately, the downside is that because the 3D glasses that they provide you with don’t have the correct lenses for this type of play, you have to play it with an eyepatch since you can see one of the layers through one eye and see the other layer through the other eye. This would easily be prevented with different 3D glasses that you will be able to purchase separately but we thought it was cooler to just have an eye patch and test our skills with only 1 eye gaming.

The other really cool thing about the TV is that they got rid of the traditional controller and have what is basically a Wii-mote for your remote. Unfortunately, although it’s neat to not have a traditional controller there is a reason there is a need for one and I think they should give you both. The reason I say that is because doing simple tasks such as choosing an input is no longer as easy as one button push but instead going through the home screen and then selecting input. Another disadvantage so this controller is that if you are sitting at your couch and don’t have a table or anything nearby and sit the controller beside you, any slight movement is going to make the giant arrow show up on your screen and if you’re on Netflix then it will also make the bars popup as well. However, despite the couple cons to the remote there are plus sides such as using all the apps and navigating around the full Smart TV home screen is done with a breeze.

Overall, I enjoyed the 3D TV and it had to be one of the best 3D experiences I have had so far.

Not sure what I’d do for the 3D part of the experience, probably buy a bunch of 3D movies such as Ghost Rider, The Avengers, Flying monsters, and Wrath of the Titans, to name a few. I have about 8 nieces and nephews that would love to see these movies in 3D on a screen like that. I would have a viewing party for my large-immediate family, 13 people at least. and it’d be a great get together for my family. Lots of popcorn and many hours of viewing. Then, after that it’d be used to play Xbox 360, and get my game on. As it is after being really hectic last year our family hasn’t had some good quality time together, perhaps it’ll happen without the 3D TV, but it’d definitely make it a memorable experience, outside of the theaters anyway!

I would go out and buy a week’s worth of food and hydration and then head out to a costume shop and buy a Snape costume. Then, I would proceed to lock myself away from any form of human contact. That is when I will make a comfortable spot for my butt and re-watch the whole Harry Potter series, from start to finish, and marvel at the awesome quality.

Well, to start off with, I would invite a friend over to help unbox and set up. Maybe get the Flux Capacitor fired up and hit the fast forward button on the good old time machine, so it gets set up and operational as quickly as possible, akin to Boored Atwork’s unboxing!lol) Next, send our 6 year old 60hz plasma up stairs to our son. Then I would hook up the PS3 and surround unit to it so the experience is immersive. Utitlize the 4 HDMI ports on the LG for the Cable, PS3, DVD player, and Xbox. Then Fire up the TV, set it up, and link facebook accounts and what not, and learn to use the Magic Remote. Then, invite a few friends and family over, pass out the lightweight LG 3D glasses, and show off the Magic remote and the features of the TV.Now its time to watch a couple awesome 3D flicks such as “Dark Knight”, “Avatar”, and “Tron:Legacy”, all sound pumping thru the surround sound system of course! I would also try out a few 2D movies, making use of the 2D to 3D conversion feature, such as Terminator, and Indiana Jones. I would have to leave for a second to answer the door, to tell John Conner that he has came to the wrong place, as the Terminators are just on a 3D movie, and not REALLY in my home. Id just get sat back down, and the door bell would ring again. This time its the Nazi’s looking for Indiana Jones! Id have to explain that no, I know it looks very real, but Indiana Jones is NOT here! lol! I would then use the magic remote features again to navigate thru the apps and online world, and show a few awesome Boored Atwork reviews, and explain how great of a reviewer he is to everyone, and that I won this awesome Tele from the IGX Pro LG Television Giveaway contest! They would all agree with me that Boored should try out for a Movie Trailer voiceover actor! lol! There would be cheesy popcorn, and sub sandwiches for all! The soda would flow freely! After a few movies with friends and family, I would show off more of the features, including the super fast 240hz refresh rate, and be SURE to say where I won it from, then after they go home, It would be time for my Wife and I to enjoy it! It would, afterall, be a belated 5 year anniversary present! We would play a little Battlefield 3 and once again, showcase the 240 hz refresh rate (Yes, she is a girl gamer!). Then after a little gaming, sit down and watch one of her lovey movies, or maybe something like “Tim Burton’s Alice in wonderland” and celebrate our anniversary late! The next day, I may bring the TV out to the back yard along with the surround system, and get a little Rockband converted to 3D going with an “Awsome LG 3D television barbeque” party and bonfire! We have played rockband outside before, and its great fun! That way all my neighbors can see how awesome of a tele that we have now, and they may decided to get one for their own homes!! The following day it will time for the kids to enjoy the eye poping 3D! Movies would include Wall-E, Toy story, UP, CLoudy with a chance of meatballs! My wife and I would even enjoy them, as we are both kids at heart!! I cannot forget, later down the road, Super Bowl party!!!! Id have to be making plans early, so I can have an awesome Superbowl party! This would again, make use of the 2D to 3D conversion, and it will be great enjoyment to watch everyone flinch as the players look like they are ready to pop out of the screen and tackle them! I would Reserve Saturday and invite all my gaming friends i know to watch me play games on this amazing tv i just won while streaming it to twitch tv showing the world how awesome the tv is and me. All the while laughing evilly knowing how bad all my friends and streamers watching me wish they could have a tv like mine. I would be surrounding myself in tons of snacks and drinks, just gaming on this beast of a tv all day and night long. After which, around 6am in the morning i would blast the games i am playing and wake all the friends around me with the extreme awesomeness of which this tv is.

Needless to say if an eye patch is involved for certain gaming modes then to set the tone and get the party started right it would have to begin as a HD pirate viewing party – a little Johnny Depp in Pirates of the Caribbean (or maybe StarTrek since General Chang had an eye patch in StarTrek VI) – either looking awesome in 3d.

Once people were convinced eye patches are all the rage we’d the finish it off with some serious head to head gaming … once everyone is onboard with wearing an eye patch.
