Nexuiz – Downloadable Arena FPS – Coming Early 2012

Nexuiz – Downloadable Arena FPS – Coming Early 2012

Zack Dodge 13 Jan

Fast paced arena shooters are a tough find these days, titles like Quake and Unreal tournament were the cornerstone of fast paced FPS’s and should not be forgotten. Luckily a new downloadable title know as Nexuiz will be lauching as part of the House Party XBLA promotion. In other words Nexuiz will be launching sometime over the next couple of weeks for 800MS points, but more importantly this new title looks pretty bad ass.

I love arena shooters, so much so, that I still throw in my UT3 from time to time and play with the 20 others that apparently miss those games as well. Fast paced shooters like Nexuiz take me back to a time when I was just discovering FPS’s, and those are great times. This trailer below gives a good idea as to what Nexuiz is all about.

At launch we can expect Team Deathmatch and Capture the Flag. Traditional weapons will all be found here, where most matches spawn with a Shotgun starting weapon. Mutators have also been promised, which is a staple in a arena shooters. Take it or leave it, this looks pretty promising for 800MS points($10PSN). This will be a day one purchase for myself, as I imagine it will attract a pretty cool community of shooter fanatics. Nexuiz will be available for Xbox 360 and PS3 users, I will post an official release date when I find one. Enjoy the trailer, enjoy your weekend!
