Being an Xbox Live Indie Game is a tough gig, you have to compete with countless Minecraft rip-offs and controller calibrators, but there are great games there and the Original Apple Jack was one of them. The quirky platformer, by the one-man team at My Owl Software, had you jumping on washing machines and throwing them into pandas to grab some coins. It was a simple mechanic that was surprisingly addictive.
Addictive enough that over 700 played and rated it, which also was enough to warrant a sequel. Sometime in Q1 next year, likely before March, Apple Jack 2 will be released on XBLIG and bring with it some new features. There will be 3 worlds with just over 60 levels, huge new bosses and the ability to rewind time to save yourself.
If you haven’t played the original you can can get it now for 80MSP, so you can prepare yourself for the apple-headed adventure that awaits next year.
