It’s been a lengthy wait, for the impatient, since the 10 NES games were made available back in September for those early adopters of the 3DS. For those who did not grow up in the NES era there was likely little worth getting excited over when those 10 titles were announced and made some 3DS owners even more eager to get the forthcoming GBA games. It has been three long months and these games are certainly worth the wait.
Only the first five GBA titles were known until right before today, of those were already great titles, now with the inclusion of The Legend of Zelda: The Minnish Cap and Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones early adopters have even more to enjoy over the holiday season. By the way, you should probably be downloading these while reading this so you can jump right into the classic gaming.
To download the games, if you’ve already forgot how you got the NES games on your handheld, you must go to the eShop on the 3DS and from the menu select Downloaded Titles and scroll down the list until you reach the GBA games and start ‘redownloading’ them for no cost. They all take up roughly 70-100 blocks, so it won’t take up any space on your SD. Next is the arduous task of ‘unwrapping’ all the games before you get to play them, a useless step, but one Nintendo thought would be like opening a gift on Christmas morning.
Here is the whole list of the available titles:
Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones
F-Zero: Maximum Velocity
Kirby & The Amazing Mirror
The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap
Mario Kart: Super Circuit
Mario vs. Donkey Kong
Metroid Fusion
Super Mario Advance 3: Yoshi’s Island
Wario Land 4
WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgames
If you have ever touched a GBA in your life you will likely recognize at least four of those titles and, unlike the NES selection, all of these are worth at least one play through. Enjoy, I know I am!

To be honest I found Minish Cap to be quite dull, most of the content was optional, and the final boss was a joke. It’s said right at the start that Vaati is a master swordsman, how come there was no epic locking of steel with him?

Well I never played the Oracles games so this will be the best chance I get to a proper successor to a Link to the Past, I’m about 3 hours into Minish Cap and I find it highly enjoyable.
