The 1993 Sega CD classic Sonic CD, considered one of the best Sonic games created and is in quite a few Best Games of all Time lists is getting a rerelease. Sonic CD will feature the Japanese and US soundtracks (note to European gamers, you got the Japanese soundtrack), and the option to play as Miles Tails Prower after clearing the game once.
Sonic CD is notable for its graphics, soundtrack, and a gameplay mechanic that involves going through the past, present, and future versions of the stages to collect the time stones, destroy Dr. Robotnik’s machines, and guarentee a good future for Planet Mobius
Yes, I’m aware he’s called Dr. Eggman now but I’ll always call him Dr. Ivo Robotnik.
The unique mechanics of the game are why this stood out among the Sonic games, despite the absence of Tails and Knuckles as playable characters. Sonic CD will be coming out tomorrow, December 14th on XBLA, PSN(Dec. 20th in North America), and for the iOS on the 15th. Android and Windows Phone 7 versions have a tentative 2012 release. There has been a PC release confirmed but no firm date has been set.
This fantastic title will be a mere $5 on all platforms. There is no reason to ignore this, if you’re a Sonic fan, you will pick this up without thinking twice about it.

The PC release is confirmed for September 26, 1996.
