No official date has been announced as to when demos will arrive on the, slowly evolving, eShop but it is known that Capcom is on board release one of the first demos. Monster Hunter 3G will have a demo available along side Konami’s New Love Plus, which is great news, but there’s a catch. Both demos will only be playable 30 times after which they basically self-destruct.
This announcement came shortly after word that the New Love Plus demo would be doanloable from 7-Eleven’s 7-Spot download service in Japan. Which also forewarns downloaders of the limit.
The Monster Hunter demo will take up 169MB of storage on your 3DS’s SD card and will include two playable quests. One is set in an icy field and one in a water environment. Players can select from twelve weapons and will have companions Cha Cha and Kayanba (the latter new for 3G) in their company.
Not official word that this limit will be a trend, but if the first two demos, from different companies, have this limitation then I expect that it won’t change for future demos. Though of course most demos are really only worth going through once and this is a non-issue on those cases, but you can get a lot of out even a single quest in Monster Hunter, so you may wish there were a couple more chances to experience everything before you buy the game.
We will update you as soon as any North American announcements are made in this regard, until then enjoy the latest Japanese trailer for MH3G:

Well at least it’s not as bad as the BS timeout that many demos seem to have. How can I properly evaluate a game if you kick me off every 10 minutes?
