As expected, Pre-orders started yesterday for the PlayStation Vita in Hong Kong, which is the second city to get access to pre-orders. However, what was unexpected was the giant mob of people swarming all retail stores and crashing retailers websites trying to get their hands just on a pre-order! There was so many people that the Chinese government considered military quarantine of the shopping districts to calm the crowd but decided againsts it.
Considering how many people got pepper sprayed, shot, and otherwise during Black Friday shopping in the US over a couple cheap goods, one can only guess how many drive-bys you will see once America gets Vita pre-orders. Canada will be civil like usual so I’m not so worried.
