After providing few specifics on the latest update coming to the Xbox 360 I did some searching around to see exactly what sort of new media features would be heading on to the console. Apparently there is a whole page on Xbox.com dedicated to just Canadian specific Apps and channels that will be available including the mention of Rogers On Demand, which is an answer to the common question about what services will be available for Digital TV on the console.
The Rogers on Demand feature does not require you to have any sort of set top box, as it is accessible anywhere in Canada that has an internet connection, which is a bonus for anyone who subscribes to any Rogers service.
In addition to the Zune Marketplace, Daily Motion, Netflix, MSN Video and the UFC channels that are already available there will be many more rolled out over the next month or so. These include:
Youtube,
Real Sports
Disney XD,
TMZ,
Crackle and
VEVO
I am not familiar with Crackle, but according to the listing on Xbox.com you can watch full length movies and TV for free, which may rival the current Netflix offering. All in all I think these are great additions and perhaps with the inclusion of a Youtube App there will be an option to upload game videos right from the console, similar to what some games can already do on the PS3.
