New League of Legends Champion: Fizz, other updates, Lux is still OP as all Hell

New League of Legends Champion: Fizz, other updates, Lux is still OP as all Hell

Rian Quenlin 14 Nov

League of Legends is constantly updated, but is seriously lacking in a Mute Vote option and colorblind mode. Regardless of that, a new champion called Fizz who is a small cute aquatic creature who wields a trident and can summon a shark as his ultimate. He is an assassin-type that can dish out some heavy damage whenever he pleases.

Like the assassin-type Vayne, he relies heavily on evasive abilities to prolong his survivability in combat, and to do a significant degree of damage instead of having to release it all in one shot. One of his abilities is a stance that allows him to mount his trident and become untargetable, and then leap off to anywhere he wants within range to deal damage. This can make him a very aggravating opponent to deal with in a straight fight.

His ultimate has him throw a fish at his opponent, and suddenly out of nowhere, a giant fricken’ shark bursts out of the ground and devours the target for heavy splash damage. Once marked, there is no escape.

Other updates involve a significant change to Katarina, with her shunpo ability (a short-range teleportation) appearing in front of or behind a target depending on whenever Killer Instinct is in effect or not. Shunpo had situations where it was undesirable, and this has been remedied.

On a more overall, Graves, Caitlyn, and Kog’Maw are getting a few nerfs, which I find odd since they’re not really that powerful unless you know what you’re doing (and even then they’re not exactly powerhouses). Miss Fortune, Corki, and Tristana however are getting some buffs of their own. Ranged carries have some wide differences between them, but some recent nerfs were overkill like a recent patch on Ashe.

Another champion up for nerfs is Sona, who is without a doubt, with no exception whatsoever, the best support champion in the game, capable of speed boosts, healing, and doing some very good damage. An AP Sona lategame is also a killing machine that can tear down tanks faster than Vayne can. Her Aria is getting a scaling mana cost with level, and the defense boosts is getting reduced too. As a Sona player, you have my assurance that a lane with Sona in it is nearly impossible to bring down with ease, and her lategame with Stark’s Fervor and Will of the Ancients giving lifesteal auras to her allies along with her staying in the back row means any team without decent tactics (read: Common sense actions of “Shoot the medic”) will ragequit.

Almost all summoner spells are being changed. Clarity for example is getting buffed despite already being needed for AP nukes like Lux. The mastery trees have also been completely overhauled to give flexibility to players.

The only smart thing really is nerfing Sona, she’s ridiculously easy to play and also very powerful. They really have no idea how to balance a game now, do they?
