As posted on Major Nelsons blog, Gears of War 3 is due for it’s first piece of DLC that is not just an over-priced aesthetic upgrade. RAAM’s Shadow will supposedly add 3 hours of gameplay and add more depth to the story that preceded the events of the first game. In addition to this there will be new characters introduced to the story elements as well as some multiplayer content.
For a whopping 1,200 MSP players will also get the Chocolate weapon set for multiplayer in addition to the single player content. This content will also be a part of the Season Pass as well, so no need to feel like you aren’t getting a bang for your buck. Of course, there will be an additional 250 gamer points to earn as well with the addition of a couple new achievements. RAAM’s Shadow will be released December 15th.

I personally believe that the DLC model for Gears of War 3 is a clear example of nickle and diming as plenty other games have offered far more substantial content for 400 points less. Also, the innumerable weapon skins and camo packs are just begging fans for their money. Of course you don’t have to buy any of it, but if you loved the game then you will and perhaps Epic deserves it considering how much people seem to enjoy the series. I just feel they are begging for money rather than doing it for the fans. This is the Call of Duty model. My two cents.
