Datel, a subsidiary to CodeJunkies known for making the action replay, is not known for quality accessories. The Turbo Fire EVO is no exception to this, but what it lacks in physical quality it seems to make up for in features. The wireless controller features standard options such as rapid fire and rumble control, though it comes with some surprises as well.
Arguable one of the most exciting features is the ability to remap the buttons on the controller in any way to you choose, allowing for a more custom experience akin to PC gaming. The 1.7″ LCD lets you enable and customise features on the fly with sliders to adjust sensitivity of the joysticks, rumble and rapid fire.
The controller seems great for those who like a little extra advantage in online shooters, though Modern Warfare 3 seems to work around this by jamming your gun if a rapid fire features is enabled. I like the idea of remapping the controls as few games give you much choice on this matter. Check out this advertising video that is straight out of the 90’s with horrible music included.
And remember, NO cord or dongles are required! It’s the future!
