Gears of War 3 hasn’t even been released yet but Microsoft and Epic Games announced earlier today the details of four downloadable contents for the the game. After going gold last week with the completion of the game’s development that is very much in advance of its September 20 release date, it seems like the developers still have a lot of work to do as 4 DLC packs are set to come behind the game’s launch with the first one coming this November.
The DLC packs will cost fans about $45 dollars total if purchased separately. However, the publishers have offered a great discount starting on the date of the game’s launch. Players can enlist themselves for the “Season Pass” which will offer a preorder of the four DLC packs at a discounted price of $30. Also, the publishers have offered an exclusive “liquid metal weapon set” in-game for those who purchase the season pass.
Gears of Wars 3, which had been initially dated to launch in April, will follow the series hero Marcus Fenix as he attempts to save the remaining humans after the last human city got destroyed by the Locust Horde as well as a new and deadlier foe – the mutating Lambent. Gears of War 3 is set to hit stores this September offering three versions: Standard ($60), Limited ($80), and Epic ($150). And between the three versions, the game has drawn over 1.3 million preorders.
